24.09.-13.10.11 Sowas wie Alltag / Something like everyday life

Boah was war ich sauer! Krieg ich doch glatt fast 40 Grad Fieber, also ab ins Thailändische Krankenhaus auf der anderen Seite des Mekong.

Boah, that sucks! Getting nearly fever of 40 degrees, so I went to Thailands hospital on the other side of the Mekong.

Bekomme dort erstmal einen Mundschutz verpasst. Diagnose: Bronchitis, scheiße, schon wieder. Also Antibiotika und 5 andere Mittelchen zum Volldröhnen. Warum ich sauer bin? Ich will bauen, nicht doof rumliegen! Und kaum bin ich wieder auf den Beinen, haut´s Uli um: Fieber, Kotzeritis und Durchfall, na super. Haben unseren Medikamentenkoffer also schon in unserem ersten Monat fast aufgefuttert.

Nach den Krankentagen geht unser Alltag wie gewohnt weiter.

Just arrived in the hospital I get a mouthguard. Diagnosis: Bronchitis, shit, again. So I take antibiotics and 5 other things to shoot myself away. Why I am pissed? I want to work at the constructions, not lay around stupidly! Just the next day after I stood up again Uli is getting ill: fever, puke, diarrhea, yes, great. We have nearly eaten up our medication box in our first month. 

Then, after that days of illness the everyday life continues as usual.

Hier unser morgendlicher Ausblick auf das gegenüberliegende Haus, wo unsere Nachbarin die Fitness-Queen ihren Frühsport betreibt. Da wird rege auf der Stelle getrabt, ganz konzentriert und im Wechsel, mal nach links, mal nach rechts.

Here is our morning view to the house on the other site where our neighbour the "fitness queen" is making some workout. She is very busyly walking on one position, once to the left and once to the right.

Bei der Ausbildung unserer Kletterguides sind wir schon ein ganz schönes Stückchen voran gekommen: Nyai (was soviel heißt wie "groß"), der Kleine mit Helm, ist total wild auf´s Klettern, kommt schon fast täglich vorbei zum Üben. Mittlerweile können wir die beiden (der andere ist Sai) schon alleine ziehen lassen.

The training programme of our climbing guides is making progress: Nyai (what means "big") is the small guy with the helmet who is totally keen to climb and comes nearly every day to train. Meanwhile we can leave the both (the other guy is Sai) alone for climbing.

Zum "Kao tiang" (Mittagessen) bringt Nyai immer lustige Sachen zum Essen mit, diesmal gibt´s Frösche (nicht Froschschenkel!, sondern ganz), dazu Kao Niau (Klebreis) und Salat.

Nyai brings always funny things for "kao tiang" (lunch). This time he brings frogs (not frogs´legs!, but whole ones), with it comes kao niau (sticky rice) and salad.

Während die anderen also klettern, müssen wir natürlich weiter bauen. Es ist immer wieder faszinierend zu sehen, wie und was die Laoten alles mit der Hand mit einfachen Werkzeugen meistern. Freuen sich aber auch tierisch, wenn sie unsere Kreissäge oder den Akkubohrer ausleihen können, geht dann nämlich doch schneller...

While the others are climbing we have to go on with the construction work. Again and again it is really fascinating how and what the Laotians do with their hand and just equipped with simple tools. But they also are very thrilled when they can hire our circle saw or the cordless drill, because in fact the work is quicker....

Mr. Kon, der "Vorarbeiter" des Bautrupps, lebt mit seiner Frau und 3 Kindern schon seit einigen Wochen in einer der Hütten, quasi als Aufpasser. 


Mr. Kon, the "foreman" of the construction team is living with his wife and his 3 children in one of the huts for weeks already, virtually as guard.

Der Sohn hilft auch schon wo er nur kann...

Überhaupt ein ungewohnter Anblick, dass Kinder auf so´ner Baustelle rumturnen, und das barfuß. Keinen interessierts, dass überall Nägel, Macheten, Sägen, Hammer und alles rumfliegt.

Indeed it´s very unusual for us to see kids on a construction site, barefoot. Nobody cares about all the nails, machetes, saws, hammers and all the stuff.

Zurück zu unserem Alltag:

• 6 Uhr klingelt der Wecker, dann 9 Minuten Schlummerphase (das bestimmt der Handywecker)
• 6:30 Frühstück, währenddessen Anfragen per Mail beantworten
• 7:30 Abfahrt zur Baustelle. Hobeln (ca. 800 Bretter), schleppen (die 800 Bretter), hämmern (ca. 4000 Nägel), bohren (ca. 3000 Löcher), sägen, messen. Wir haben uns unsere Werkstatt in Bungalow Nr. 5 eingerichtet. Hier stapeln sich schon 27 Bettgestelle, 10 Barhocker, Tischplatten, bereit um endlich ein- oder aufgebaut zu werden.
• 12 Uhr kao tiang
• 13:30 offizielles Weiterarbeiten (wie schon mal früher erwähnt können wir nicht 1 1/2 Stunden ruhig sitzen bleiben und suchen uns schon während der Pause immer Stillarbeit).
• 17 Uhr Feierabend, Heimfahrt, duschen, essen. 
• 20 Uhr ins Zimmer, weiterbröseln (Listen oder Pläne erstellen, Emails checken...was so ansteht)
• 21 Uhr schlafen 
• und wieder von vorn...

Back to our everyday life:
- 6 o´clock: alarm clock / - 6:30 o´clock: breakfast and responding emails / 7:30 o´clock: departure to the construction site. Planing (about 800 boards), carrying things (the 800 boards), hammering (about 4000 nails), drilling (about 3000 holes), sawing, measuring. We have arranged our garage in bungalow no. 5. Here are already stacked 27 beds, 10 barstools, table tops, ready to be installed or build up. / 12 o´clock: kao tiang / 13:30 o´clock: official restart to work (but how we have mentioned before we couldn´t remain sitting for 1 1/2 hours and are searching still working during the break). / 17 o´clock: end of work, ride home, have a shower, have dinner / 20 o´clock: sit in our room, making things like plans, lists, checking emails and so on) / 21 o´clock: sleeping / and next morning the same from the beginning...

Das Dach ist noch nicht ganz zu, aber wir beginnen schon mal mit dem Einbau der Thekenregale. 5 Meter fuffzig lange Theke, das wird fein!

The roof is not really finished but we already begin to install the shelves for the bar. 5,5 meter long bar, it´s getting awesome!

2 Tage später: Thomas aus Frankreich und Michl und Anna aus der Schweiz packen mit an. Sie wollten eigentlich klettern, aber es gießt heut in Strömen. Sie dürfen dabei sein, als wir mit der Thekenverkleidung beginnen! Das Herzstück des Green Climbers Home!!!

2 days later: Thomas from France and Michl and Anna from Switzerland are helping us. Normally they wanted to climb, but today it is raining cats and dogs. They can sit in on beginning the counter lining! The heart of the Green Climbers Home!!!

4 Stunden später: wir sind wieder allein am zimmern, Außenkleidchen steht, wir sind mächtig stolz! Wer an dieser Theke irgendwann ein Beerlao trinken möchte, zieht am besten schon mal ein Wartemärkchen.

4 hours later: we are working alone again, the outside skirt is installed, we are so proud! Those who want to drink a Beerlao at this bar someday is recommended to draw a waiting coupon.

11.-23.09.2011 Ja, wir können anpacken! / Yes, we can tackle it!

Was wir gerade machen? Arbeiten, arbeiten, arbeiten: / What we are doing right now? Working, working, working:

Es ist immer noch Regenzeit, die Wege total vermatscht, so dass sogar der dicke Trecker mit dem Hänger voller Sand den kleinen Hügel nicht hochkommt. Also: Sandsäcke abladen, den Hügel rauftragen, Trecker unbeladen hochfahren, Sandsäcke wieder drauf. 

Die Laotischen Bauarbeiter waren ob unserer Hilfe anfangs sehr skeptisch, aber ich glaube sie haben sich langsam an uns gewöhnt.

Rainy season is still continuing, the trail so muddy that even the big tractor with the trailer full of sand cannot come up the small hill. So: offload the sand sacks, carry up the hill, drive up the empty tractor, load on the sand sacks again.

The Laotian worker were very sceptical in the beginning when we helped, but I think they got used to us after a while.

Zwei Kletterer, Steve aus Australien und Fabian aus Deutschland, nutzen ihren "Pausentag" um mit anzupacken. Großen Dank nochmal euch beiden, wir hatten ein paar tolle Tage miteinander verbracht!

Two climbers, Steve from Australia and Fabian from Germany, used their "rest day" to tackle with us. Thanks again you two, we spend some wonderful days together!

Nach der Matschpartie nimmt Lanoy eine Dusche aus der Regentonne. Lanoy, unsere gute Seele, ohne den wir in vielen Situationen aufgeschmissen wären. 

After the muddy match Lanoy takes a shower from the rain barrel. Lanoy, our good soul. Without him we would be lost in so many situations.

Einige Tage später: Um die Bauarbeiten noch ein weniger spannender zu machen, hat es wieder dermaßen geschüttet, dass wir die Hütten nur mit dem Kajak erreichen konnten. Arbeiten war also heute nicht drin.

A few days later: To make the constructions more exciting it was raining buckets again so that we could reach the huts just by kayak. So working no dice.

Wieder ein paar Tage später endlich bestes Arbeitswetter. So zimmern dann also "Mr. Uli",...

Some days later again finally best weather for working. So "Mr. Uli",...

..und "Danjaaa" (die grad bei Mr. Uli in die Lehre gegangen ist) am Rumlümmel-Podest im Restaurant...

Eine tolle Sitte in Laos, an die man sich schnell und gerne gewöhnen kann: der Mittagsschlaf. Für unsere (deutschen) Begriffe mit einer Stunde etwas lang. Aber wir haben keine Wahl, wenn 10 Arbeiter um uns herum schlafen wollen. Also schleichen wir schon nach einer halben Stunde Pause schon wieder (auf Zehenspitzen) rege herum und suchen nach sinnvoller Arbeit, die keinen Lärm macht.

A great convention in Laos for being completely agreeable to it: afternoon nap. From our (German) view is the one-hour-nap quite long. But we have no choice when 10 worker around us want to sleep. So we tiptoe agile after half an hour, searching for a senseful job without making noise.

Haben uns noch schnell verewigt, bevor der Zement der Unterkonstruktion vom Restaurant hart wird.

We immotalized ourselves just before the cement of the static foundation gets hard.

Es ist tatsächlich angekommen: 210 kg Kletter- und Spielematerial. Unsere größte Sorge ist nun weg. 7 schwere Kisten von Deutschland nach Laos, unter anderem vieles gesponsert von Freunden, Bekannten und Firmen, großen Dank nochmal an alle!

Indeed it has arrived: 210 kg climbing gear and games material. Our maximum worry disappeared. 7 heavy boxes from Germany to Laos, among others many things that are sponsored by friends or companies, many thanks again!

Dieses grüne Etwas ist uns vor ein paar Tagen über den Weg gelaufen. Leider etwas unscharf, wir haben uns nicht näher ran getraut. Patty, was für eine ist das?

This green anything has crossed our way the last days. Unfortunately quite blurred, we didn´t dare to go closer. 

Zu diesem Thai-Restaurant gehen wir fast täglich essen. Netter Versuch, das Schild auf Englisch zu präsentieren. Aber man weiß was sie sagen wollen...

This is the Thai restaurant we visit nearly every day. Nice try to present the sign in English. But you know what they want to say....

So, das zunächst mal für´s erste.

Was hier nicht bildlich dokumentiert ist: 

- Wir haben schon unsere ersten 2 Mitarbeiter gefunden: Mr. Hong Sai ("Hausmeister") und seine Frau Mon (Zimmermädchen). Natürlich mit Hilfe von Lanoy und Mr. Keo.

- Gestern haben Uli und ich mit dem Bau der 27 Betten begonnen. Keine leichte Aufgabe, das Holz ist steinhart, sauschwer und bananenförmig. Für Uli ein kleines Kontrastprogramm zum bisherigen Herstellen hochwertiger Möbelstücke in Deutschland. Von den Maschinen und Werkzeugen mit denen wir arbeiten ganz zu schweigen...(André, wir denken oft an dich dabei).

Well, this for the first.

What is not documented by pictures:

- We already have found our first two staff: Mr. Hong Sai (ground keeper) and his wife Mon (housekeeping). Of course with the help of Lanoy and Mr. Keo.

- Yesterday Uli and me began to build 27 beds, No easy job, the wood is hard like rock, outrageously heavy and banana-shaped. For Uli that means a total alternative programm to his previous work where he built first class furnitures. Not to mention the machines and tool that we use...

Wie man hoffentlich merkt haben wir uns schon ganz gut eingelebt. Die Menschen um uns herum sind uns gegenüber unheimlich herzlich und hilfsbereit. Mit Geduld wird gewartet wenn wir versuchen einen ganzen Satz auf Laotisch rauszuhauen. 

Eigentlich Alltägliches ist unheimlich spannend und manchmal schwierig (erkläre mal im Geschäft nur mit Pantomime "Handy aufladen wollen" oder frage mal den Koch in unserem Hotel "hey du, ist es in Ordnung wenn ich mich mal in deiner Küche breit mache und deinen Pizzaofen benutze, damit ich den Erdnußkuchen backen kann, den wir auf unsere Speisekarte nehmen wollen?"), manches dafür unerwartet einfach (z. B. das Moped ans Laufen bringen, wenn man seinen Schlüssel verloren hat).

How you hopefully notice we have settled in quite well. The human beings around us are keenly cordial and helpful. They wait patiently when we try to slap out a whole sentence in Laotian.

Virtual everyday occurance is very exciting and sometimes difficult (try to explain in the store just by pantomime "want to recharge cell phone" or ask the cook of our hotel "hi there, is it ok when I plant myself in your kitchen and use your pizza oven to bake the peanut cake that we want to place on our menu?"), some things in return unexpected easy (e.g. to start the scooter even when you have lost your key).

07.-10.09.2011 Von einer Party zur nächsten / From one party to another

Ja, wir haben ihn nun...den Plan, wo wir anpacken können: nach einem Treffen mit Inthy wurde einiges klarer. Uli und ich werden also in den nächsten Tagen mit dem Bau des Mobiliars beginnen. Heißt: Uli geht mit Lenoy (unsere rechte - Laotisch und Englisch sprechende (!) - Hand) nach Thailand Werkzeug kaufen, zeichnet Pläne für Betten, Schränke, Tische, Theke. Der Bauleiter Mr. Ling bestellt das Holz, welches dann erstmal zum Trocknen 3 Tage eingelagert wird. In ein paar Tagen geht´s dann los. 

Ansonsten gibt´s natürlich vielen zu planen, Anfragen von potentiellen Gästen zu beantworten, Routen zu bohren.

Yes, now we got it...the plan what we will do next. After a meeting with Inthy all became clearer. So Uli and me will begin to build the furnitures in the following days. Means: Uli is going with Lenoy (our Lao and English speaking right hand) to Thailand to buy tools, then drawing plans of beds, cupboards, tables, the bar. The constructor Mr. Ling orders the wood which first has to dry for 3 days. After that we can start.

An meinem Geburtstag dann ausnahmsweise einfach nur klettern, zusammen mit Steve, einem Australier, der uns in den nächsten Tagen helfen will beim Bettenbau.

At my birthday we are exceptionally just climbing, together with Steve, an Australian who will help with the building of the beds.

Lenoy und seine 2 Grazien Faa und Fon (übersetzt: Himmel und Regen)

Lenoy and his two little daughters Faa and Fon (translated: sky and rain)

Mr. Lings kleine Sohn Money (so genannt, da Mr. Lings Frau bis zu seiner Geburt noch Geld verdienen musste) hat am gleichen Tag Geburtstag wie ich (seinen 2.), so dass wir prima zusammen feiern können. So werden wir direkt in Laotische Familienfeiern eingeführt, klasse! Laut Lenoy gehören wir nun übrigens mit zur Familie, eine große Ehre für uns.

Nach dem Kerzenausblasen durfte jeder ein Stück Kordel, wahlweise mit einem Geldschein bestückt oder ohne, um das Handgelenk von Money binden. Das soll Glück bringen und Gesundheit und Geld und überhaupt alles was gut ist (eine Alliteration vom Allerfeinsten, was?). Money hat das erste mal in seinem Leben weiße Ausländer ("Falang") gesehen und sah uns sehr skeptisch an. Beim Anblick vom großen Uli musste er weinen.

The birthday of Mr. Lings little son Money is on the same day as mine (his 2nd), so we can celebrate together. In that way we get introduced to Laotian family parties, great! According to Lenoy we now are a part of his family, we are very honoured!

After blowing out the candles every guest gets a cord, you can choose if you wrap also a bank note or not, and put it around the wrist of Money. This shell bring luck and healthy and money and everything good. Money saw white foreigners ("falang") for his first time and watched us sceptically. As he saw big Uli he began to cry.

Als Spezialität gibt es schwarze Eier. Die Eier werden tagelang in einer speziellen Marinade gelagert und dann gekocht, oder umgekehrt. Schmecken nur ein wenig anders als die weißen, also lecker.

As a speciality black eggs are offered. The eggs are stored in a special marinade for a few days and then cooked, or the other way around. Tastes just a bit differently to the white one, so they are delicious.

Große Überraschung: von Lenoy und Mr. Ling erhalte auch ich eine eigene Torte...

..mit meinem Namen und "Green Climbers Home" drauf, mann was hab ich mich gefreut! Ganz traditionell hab ich dann jedem ein Stück davon gereicht.

...with my name and "Green Climbers Home", wow, I was very pleased! Like the tradition is I brought everybody a piece of it.

Bier ist ja nicht nur ein lecker Getränk, sondern verbindet Völker und Nationen. Geprostet wird immer gerne und oft, Nok Nok. Und da man uns ohne Gnade in die Laotische Trinkkultur einführte, lernten sie von Uli erstmal das wichtige Wort "exen". Wurde auch gleich geprobt.


Beer is not just a tasteful beverage, but let people and nations unite. They like saying cheers very much and often, nok nok. And since they introduced ourselves mercilessly into the Laotian drinking culture Uli teached them the important German word "exen" (what means to chug-a-lug, drink in one step). And we tried it immediatly.

Und dies ist das Ergebnis.

Am übernächsten Tag wieder zu den Bungalows. Dies wird unsere Bleibe sein!!! Hier ist schon mal der Aufstieg zum Restaurant (unsere "Wohnung" ist mit dem Restaurant unter einem Dach)

Und dann, gerade von der einen Feier erholt, kommt auch schon die nächste. Wieder eine Doppelpack-Geburstagsparty von Lenoys Tochter Fon (2 Jahre) und Lenoys Frau Bong. Diesmal mit Musik und Tanz und wieder reichlich Speisen und Bier.


And then, just recovered from the one party, there is already the next. Again a double package birthday party of Lenoys daughter Fon (2 years old) and Lenoys wife Bong. This time with music and dancing and again lots of food and beer.

Ganz besonders freuen wir uns über diese Kostbarkeit: Entenblutsüppchen mit Fleischeinlage, Erdnüssen und Kräutern. Mmmmmhh. Und wer hat´s probiert? Der Uli. Ich konnt´s mir grad noch verkneifen.

Especially about this delicacy we are very pleased: Soup of duck blood with meat, peanuts and herbs. Yummy. And who has tried it? Uli. For me I just could resist...

Es wurde groß Live-Musik aufgefahren. Der bestellte Sänger war allerdings oft arbeitslos, weil Lenoy selbst auch so gerne und gut singt.


There was all arranged for big live music. The booked singer was often out of work because Lenoy himself likes to sing very much and very good.

Wie schon erwähnt: Musik und Tanz. Nicht wie bei uns, jeder wie er will...hier wird formiert, in Reih und Glied gestellt oder im Kreis getanzt, nach Männlein und Weiblein getrennt und im Gleichschritt bewegt. Hier bringen mir die Frauen eine Schrittfolge bei. Abrocken würde ich es nicht nennen, aber wir waren alle vergnügt.

How I said: music and dancing. Not like we do, everybody as he likes...here it is formated, ranked or danced in circles, separated men and women and moved in same steps. Here the women teach me a step sequence. I wouldn´t call it rock out but it was very cheerful.

So, genug gefeiert, ab nächstem Mal wird´s ernst.

Now we have celebrated enough, from now on it becomes serious.

02.09.11 Wieder in Thakhek / Again in Thakhek (Laos)

Die letzten Tage in Kurzform: / The last days in shortened form:

29.08.11: unser letztes Frühstück in unserer heißgeliebten (hier leeren) Wohnung / our last breakfast in our flat where we loved to live (here totally empty)

30.08. Abflug von Düsseldorf nach Bangkok / 31.08. einen Tag Aufenthalt in Bangkok, dann Nachtbus nach Nakhon Phanom / 01.09. und hier auf dem Foto nach ca. 40 Std. fast ohne Schlaf auf der Fähre Richtung Thakhek. Wir sahen schon mal besser aus...

30.08. Flight from Düsseldorf to Bangkok / 31.08. one day stay in Bangkok, then by nightbus to Nakhon Phanom / 01.09. and here on the picture after about 40 hours nearly without sleep on the ferry to Thakhek. We have been looking better other times...

Natürlich machen wir ersteinmal mit Lenoy und dem Bauleiter (s.u.) eine Besichtigung der Bungalows. Wir sind riesig gespannt! Noch etwas unwegsam, daher haben wir uns am nächsten Tag mit Gummistiefeln bewaffnet.

Of course first we have a sight seeing tour with Lenoy and the constructor to see the bungalows. We are so excited! Still a bit impassable so the next day we bought rubber boots.

10 Hütten, 1 Restaurant, 1 Dorm, 1 Personalhütte....alles wie bestellt, aber natürlich noch nicht fertig. Sieht tatsächlich aus wie auf den Fotos (ohne Photoshop), wir sind begeistert!

10 huts, 1 restaurant, 1 dorm, 1 staff hut...all like we have "ordered", but of course not finished yet. Looks indeed like the pictures (without Photoshop), we are totally rapt!

Mr. Ling, der Bauleiter, hatte sich unser Logo runtergeladen und auf sein Auto gepabbt. Damit hatte er, wen wundert´s, bei uns direkt Pluspunkte gesammelt. Normalerweise guckt er freundlich. 

Mr. Ling, the constructor, had downloaded our logo and sticked on his car. So he had, no wonder, engaged all our sympathy. Normally he looks friendly.

Weniger erfreulich ist der Zustand unseres roten Flitzers, den wir in Thakhek untergestellt hatten. So ziemlich jedes Teil hatte einen kleinen Defekt. Netterweise hat uns ein Mitarbeiter unserer Unterkunft (Inthira Hotel) bei der Reparatur geholfen. 

The condition of our red racer which we left in Thakhek was not so gratifying. Nearly every detail was broken somehow. Kindly an employee of our accomodation (Inthira Hotel) helped to repair the motorbike.

 Und dann erstmal ran an den Fels! Wir haben euch schon genügend Kletterbilder zugemutet, daher hier ein letzter Anblick auf unsere neuen Scarpa-Schuhe und das neue 80m-Seil von Millet (gleich sind sie nämlich nicht mehr neu!). Ein Traum! Klettern funktioniert also auch in der Regenzeit. Nicht in allen Sektoren, aber "Honeymoon" ist schon trocken.


And then: to the rocks! Because you surely got tired of all our climbing pictures here a last view of our new Scarpa climbing shoes and our new 80m rope of Millet (shortly they are not new anymore!) What a dream! Climbing is possible even in the rainy season. Not in all sectors, but "Honeymoon" is dry already.


In den nächsten Tagen müssen wir erst einmal herausfinden, wo wir als erstes anpacken können. Zurzeit sind wir noch ein wenig konfus, zugegebenermaßen. Mag ich gar nicht, ich brauche einen Plan. Und Uli auch.

09.08.2011 Vorbereitungen zum Auswandern / Preparations for emigration

Ui ui ui, uns raucht der Kopf. Unsere To-Do-Liste wird eher voller als leerer, sobald wir einen Punkt abstreichen können, kommen 2 weitere dazu.

Ein wichtiger Punkt: unsere Sachen loswerden...

Oi oi oi, our head is smoking. Our to-do-list is not getting smaller, but bigger...as soon as we cancel one point, we must add two others.

One important issue is to get rid of our staff...

Sehr ergreifender Moment: Wir verabschieden uns von unserer Boulderwand.

Very touching moment: we say goodbye to our boulder wall.

Was nicht verkauft werden kann stellen wir mit einem Schild "zu verschenken" auf die Straße. Innerhalb von ein paar Stunden sind wir 5 volle Kisten los. 

Things that are not marketable we put on the street with a sign "to give away". In between some ours we got rid of 5 boxes.

Eine weitere wichtige Vorbereitungsmaßnahme: gesammelte Kletterschuhe reparieren. Für unseren Kletterausrüstungsverleih natürlich.

Another important preparatory action is to repair all collected climbing shoes. For our climbing gear rental of course.

Unser Kletterschuhe-Berg: gewaschen, desinfiziert, geflickt und beschriftet. Müsste für jeden was dabei sein. 

Our climbing shoe mountain: washed, desinfected, patched and labeled. There should be something for everyone.

Nur noch 3 Wochen, dann sind wir weg. Langsam werden wir nervös...

Just 3 weeks until we leave. Slowly we are getting nervous...

06.06.2011 Green Climbers Home - Die Bauarbeiten / The construction work

Ja doch, wir schreiben unseren Blog weiter (nachdem wir zig Beschwerden hatten, was das denn solle, einfach damit aufzuhören....)
Und jawoll, die Bauarbeiten haben begonnen! Hier ein kleiner Zwischenstand:

Yep, anyway, we are going on to write our blog (after receiving many complaints why on earth we could ever stop the blog...)
And yep, the construction works have started! Here is the intermediate result:

Während wir in Deutschland alles für unseren großen Umzug vorbereiten, alles verticken, was noch Geld bringt (ebay ist unser bester Freund!) und Werbung machen wo`s nur geht (danke an die Kletterhallen, die unser Plakat aufgehängt haben!) wird in Laos tatsächlich schon fleißig gewerkelt.

While we are preparing all for our big move to Laos, sell all the stuff that could bring any money (ebay is our best friend!) and advertise our project wherever it is possible (thanks to all the climbing gyms that already put up our poster!), in Laos indeed they potter about eagerly.

Sehr beachtlich: auch Frauen bauen mit. / Remarkable: also women are working at the construction

Wir sind fast ausgeflippt als wir die Fotos von Lanoy aus Laos erhalten haben. Da wuseln also nun ca. 10 (?) Laoten täglich herum, um unser Klettercamp aufzubauen? Wie geil ist das denn! Und wir können grad nur zuschauen...verdammt.

We nearly freaked out when we got the pictures from Lanoy from Laos. There are indeed about 10 (?) Laotions day by day working for our climbing camp? How cool is that! And we just can stand on the sidelines...damn.
